On 25 April, this year’s edition of the student conference of the Doctoral School of Hungarian Studies took place. Following an inspiring opening plenary lecture by Selyem Zsuzsa on Krasznahorkai László’s representations of animals, sixteen presentations were delivered in the fields of literary studies, linguistics, and anthropology-ethnography. The conference’s academic committee — Benő Attila, Tánczos Vilmos, and Zabán Márta — together with a sizeable audience, engaged in lively scholarly discussions after several of the presentations.
The conference also included the launch of the volume from the 2024 edition, presented by the publication’s editors: Domokos Boglárka Orsolya, Jakab Júlia, Mitruly Árpád, and Tőtős Dorottya. As the closing event of the conference, the director of the doctoral school spoke in greater detail about national and international postdoctoral research funding opportunities and positions. The academic committee awarded several outstanding presentations and scholarly achievements, recognizing the work of Tőtős Dorottya, Tulogdi Mónika, Furus Zsolt, Jakab Júlia, Nagy Anita-Apollónia, Gudor Noémi, Kovács Péter Zoltán, and Máthé-Farkas Zoltán.
The conference was organized by first-year doctoral students Balló Ignác-Norbert, Balog Alexandra, Furus Zsolt, Gudor Noémi, Lázár Kinga, Moga Petra, and Nagy Anita-Apollónia, together with the director of the doctoral school, T. Szabó Levente.
